Having bought a new sink for my daughters bathroom I wanted to upgrade her faucet with something different and modern. I found this faucet doing a search on Amazon. I looked at a lot of faucets day and night for weeks on end and kept coming back to this one. I made the purchase and anxiously awaited its arrival. Fortunately for me I am a prime member and the wait was short. The new sink had arrived prior to the faucet and the old contractor grade sink was on its way to the landfill. My daughter (17 going on 27) was in New York visiting her grandmother was unaware of what was happening as this was a surprise for her. On a glorious Wednesday the faucet arrived. I unwrapped the box as if it were Christmas morning and lifted it up as if it were a trophy. She was a beautiful faucet, heavy too. This meant it was a good quality unit. The directions were straight forward, easily read and understood. I had read several reviews on this faucet before the purchase and they were all good. I firstly installed the faucet in all of its glory in the new sink, it was a magnificent looking combo. They looked like they belonged together like Barbi and Ken. My daughter will love this I thought. I was missing one piece though, the drain. The drain was purchased one day after the faucet and would be arriving tomorrow. This was no ordinary drain though, nope not for my daughter. It was a spring loaded push down to seal model. No more drain rod for her! I placed the sink/faucet in the empty cut out for safe keeping while I awaited the drain's arrival. The next day, a glorious Friday I arrived home from work and collect the box from my front porch. I don't worry about porch pirates, the 50 cal. machine gun next in the front yard is a great deterrent. Anyways, once again it was as if it were Christmas morning. Opening the box yielded the best looking sink drain I had ever seen! In brushed stainless steel it matched the faucet perfectly. I ran to the bathroom and dropped in into the sink drain hole just to see what it looked like. It was heaven! Wow, I though my daughter (nick named the bug or bug for short) was going to love this. I barley slept Friday night as I awaited the installation on Saturday morning. I had staged my drain bucket and tools Friday night in preparation for the Saturday morning event, all directions were read and understood. 6:00 AM I was up, my fiancée was less than impressed. I started the install, the faucet had been previously mounted into the sink's single hole and was a perfect fir by the way. I now removed the drain and then the sink/faucet combo to install the hot and cold water lines. I noticed they were a bit different. They were proprietary in the fact he the end that went into the faucet itself were no a standard hose fitting. not an issue they fit into the faucet base perfectly. I had noticed the other end seemed wider that normal. Upon hot and cold water supply valve inspection or the sink I noticed the size and thread type were both smaller in diameter and finer in thread size. Emotions were high as I now removed the proprietary hot water hose from the faucet and trudged 10 miles uphill in a rainstorm to Home Depot to get a new and correct size supply valve, actually I needed two. Upon arrival I thought, this is one of my favorite places and I may have to make an impulse purchase so I would feel better about making the trip. I smiled and forged ahead to the plumbing department. As luck would have it the local Expert from Home Depo was there, I patiently waited as he spoke with the other customer. I quickly figured out that this guy was having the exact same issue as myself. Unaware and surprised I busted into their conversation telling them I have the same issue and holding up the hose. The other customer said his hose was the same on the supply side as mine but was different on the faucet side of his. I told them both I got mine from Amazon, the other guy said his was purchased through Amazon also. The Expert enlightened both of us that these were possible European Faucets and there was only one way to make the supply lines work. A simple 1/2" Nipple and a standard supply line. Both of us got nipples and short supply lines, shook hands laughed and were on our way. On the way out my eye was caught by the lighting department, I had been looking on Amazon for a new hallway light fixture and decided to take a stroll down that isle on my way out. Low and behold I found a light I loved, again brushed stainless steel. As luck would have it the unit was on sale from $99.00 down to $50.00, there was one left and it was an open box that had been taped up. I thought to myself was it returned and missing parts. Me being me cut the tape off with my pocket knife and opened it, inspected/inventoried it. Some people walked by and gave me the stink eye, I smiled and said what? They continued on. I packed everything back up and made for the checkout. I love the new self checkout lane there now too! feeling better about the trip I made my way home, overwhelmed I had to concentrate at the task at hand, this faucet/sink install. I wanted to start the light but had to finish the sink install first. That went well and looked great until I tested it. The faucet and sink are amazing. The drain, well you will have to read that review which I would recommend so you don't go through what I went through. After the install and test I did the final caulk around the outside and then started the new hallway light install. I am happy to say it went off without a hitch. Four days later we picked up out daughter at he airport around 10PM. I had also painted the living room while she was away. She was surprised and loved the color, when she went into the bathroom she was surprised and impressed to see what I had done for her. She loves the new faucet and the push down sink. I caught her walking through the house the next day with her phone pointed at the walls and heading for the bathroom. She was showing off what I had done to one of her friends. She knows what it takes to do that as her and myself installed new wood flooring in her bedroom and baseboards after me her and her boyfriend had painted it. Today I start the new kitchen backsplash, stay tuned!
